About BLMiM

Black and Latino Men in Medicine was founded at the NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center as a network of administrators, physicians, scientists, trainees, and students to raise awareness of the myriad of issues involved in the precipitous decline of Black and Latino men in healthcare, medicine, and science.
Through networking, program development, and community engagement, BLMiM seeks to support and provide mentorship for Black and Latino men interested in medicine/science, while advocating for effective and sustainable solutions to combat this national crisis.
                                           Objectives
  • To align underrepresented minority students, residents/fellows, and post-graduates with faculty in their respective field of interest for mentorship and professional networking
  • To address healthcare disparities among Black and Latino men through community outreach programming
  • To increase the number of underrepresented minorities in healthcare and biomedical research through policy and program development
